VerifiedAfter a closed-door meeting with heads of security agencies in the state, I called for calm among residents in the state, as security operatives have been deployed to protect banking assets to ensure the disbursement of cash to our citizens.
We are putting pressure on the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to do what they should in releasing cash to citizens and have requested for security to do so. We want all citizens to be vigilant to make sure the situation is not hijacked and things do not go out of control.
As a government, we feel the pains of our people and will continue to do everything we can to ameliorate their sufferings.

Your Excellency sir, I truly appreciate your love expressed through your service to this Federation as the current Governor of Edo State.
I was originally born and spent the first 21 years of my life in Edo State, and my ancestors are from the capital city of Benin.
The indigenous people, both legal Nationals and alien citizens residing in the great Benin Kingdom are unfairly treated.
It is very much understandable that the recently reprinted Nigerian 1000, 500 and 200 Naira bill are in constrain due to our vast population, odds and other factors.
The current Nigerian 5, 10, 20 and 50 Naira bill has been reprinted in polymer money over 15 years ago. The 100 Naira bill has been since long ago.
Question; Why are the Banks in your native City where you serve as Governor refuse to disburse lower denominations of the Nigerian Naira Bill in the exact same sum account holders demand to withdraw?

My @governorobaseki Sir, please this is not the right way. Sorry to say. Use these security men to tackle the people who are rejecting the old currency. Lagos state is not protesting because the governor put a threat to anyone who reject the old currency. Same with some other state. If u can’t give that threat, things will begin to escalate. Who don’t use bank or have new naira note can’t sustain. Can’t u understand that, my governor?
