About the Programme
The Multilateral Diplomacy Programme Unit (MDPU) designs and delivers core diplomacy training for diplomats and other stakeholders globally. Its activities include:
- Orientation briefings and skills development workshops for diplomats at UN Headquarters and other locations.
- Regional and country-level training in partnership with governments and universities.
- E-learning courses, curriculum development for diplomatic academies, and other training tools.
- The Online Master in International Affairs and Diplomacy programme, a flagship initiative for professionals and students in international relations.
This traineeship offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a multicultural environment and deepen your understanding of the United Nations system and multilateral diplomacy.
Key Responsibilities
As a trainee, your duties will include:
- Programme Design and Implementation:
- Assisting in the preparation, design, and execution of the Online Master Programme and related qualifications.
- Adapting training materials to meet quality and academic standards.
- Admissions and Communication:
- Supporting the admissions process.
- Engaging with partner organizations and beneficiaries.
- Research and Outreach:
- Conducting research for new programmes and partnerships.
- Assisting with outreach and communication strategies, including community engagement.
- Administrative Support:
- Organizing and managing academic courses.
- Providing input for monitoring and evaluation activities.

Eligibility Criteria
Education:
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated (within two years) from an undergraduate degree in international relations, political science, history, law, education, or a related field.
Skills:
- Proficiency in writing and research in English.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and administrative skills.
- Competence in computer tools, including e-learning platforms, MS Office Suite, and internet research.
- Interest in e-learning, instructional design, and training methodologies.
Languages:
- High proficiency in English (both oral and written).
- Knowledge of French and/or Spanish is an advantage.

- Work Schedule: Full-time (requests for part-time arrangements should be discussed before starting).
